[ While Christmas isn't something she suspected one of the Endless to celebrate, of course, she is grateful for being humored when it's her first real holiday celebration in too many years. And it's her first real Christmas while being courted, so she is very much basking despite the melancholy cloud that has followed her all month.

He's already received a full three-piece suit with star cufflinks and matching shoes (just in case the City ever gets funny with his self-made clothes), a clementine to share, and a voucher for one "intimate" request—no questions asked. All while wearing this so you're welcome.

She has one more thing to give him—two, if her heartfelt words on paper count—but she's in no hurry to rush through the experience. ]

[ he sets the last item aside, the voucher set next to the clementine, his mild confusion followed by realization then followed by a hint of a smirk still lingering in his expression as he turns back to her. he extends his hand to her to invite her to sit on his knee. ]

You need not have gifted me anything, my love.

[ If she gets to keep hearings things like 'my love' with that voice of his, she'll never need any gift but that. He speaks as though she has done too much, when she is certain she's the one who has been spoiled.

At the invitation, she's only too happy to settle elegantly onto his knee with a swish of her skirt. ]

On such a day, I am to show my attention and affection to everyone but mine own heart? I think not.

[ his arm then slips around her waist, holding her close there. ]

I had not initially thought of a gift for you in return.

[ That lightly wrinkles her brow with her smile, only because she cannot imagine him ever worrying over such a thing, so it's impossible not to tease. ]

Is your company not my gift?

[ Reaching to tap at his lower lip, she's quick to follow it up with a light kiss. ]

Your affection? Your love? All for me. So you see, I am already quite rich.

[ there's a faint smile when she taps his lip, and he leans in to the kiss when she leans in herself. ]

Perhaps so. But I will give you one other thing, provided you can accommodate a request.

[ If there's a fluster to her chuckle and half-tease, please ignore it for the sake of her pride. ]

Already?

[ Should she have prepared more before giving him that voucher? ]

Of course. Anything for you.

[ there's a small huff and smaller smile, catching her flush. ]

A different request. Something of yours that you would not mind parting with.

[ That actually brightens her smile. It's a bit of an unusual request, but that has never put her off before. She would think it quite romantic for lovers to keep one another's belongings. It's difficult to think of what wouldn't seem silly to offer him, though. ]

I really only worry for keeping my Tarot close by.

[ She stands to slip away from him so she can go look through her luggage. Living out of her bags has become quite useful when needing to be on the move at any moment, but not as helpful when trying to find things. ]

Hm...

[ Her hand mirror is considered, though she knows he isn't vain, and the hairbrush seems silly. Then there's a silver chain bracelet that could look pleasing on him if he ever felt the desire.

The delicate bracelet is offered once she's back on her feet. ]

Would this suffice?

[ his arm falls away as she stands, Dream remaining in his seat as she goes to look. he calls after her softly. ]

It does not need to be anything significant, some bauble or trinket.

[ he stands as well when she does, stepping over to reach for the bracelet. ]

Yes. this will suffice.

[ he takes the bracelet from her in one hand, then holds his hand back out to take hers, leading her back to sit once more. ]

[ There's a pleased pinch to her smile as she sits back down, enjoying these invitations no matter what his reasoning is. ]

You may wish to wait for the rest of your Christmas gift before you request too much more, or something may yet clash.

[ he gathers the bracelet into his palm first now that they're seated once more, a fingertip hovering over and gently prodding at it, seeing how the light catches at the silver links. she can hear him speaking quietly, in some forgotten language she feels she should know. he then takes the clasp at one end of the bracelet, holding it still while hand holding the bulk of it closes its fingers around it then starts to pull away from his still hand, a new item revealing itself from the opening in his hand like a string of handkerchiefs would from a magician's hand.

the bracelet is changed now, a chain of fine silver, but simpler now with a pendant that has a delicate engraved pattern to it with a small ruby in the center. the engraving looks like a generic floral or vine pattern at first glance, but a more focused observation will reveal that the engraving is actually that of a scorpion curled around the edges, the tail curling inward and the stinger positioned at the ruby. the chain is such that she can clasp it at different lengths, the pendant can rest anywhere from between her breasts to resting just beneath the hollow of her throat. it's simple enough that it can be worn with other jewelry without clashing or she can wear it on its own.

he holds the chain around his fingers, the pendant swinging lightly as he holds it out to her. ]

[ Her eyes are about as wide as they can get in the beginning, captivated while watching his movements, only to then gasp with a flutter of her eyelashes when she sees what he's done. Already she's struggling to hold back tears. ]

It's beautiful.

[ It's more than that, but she's overwhelmed at how he personalized it.

Catching herself in her fascination, she straightens her shoulders and reaches to pull her hair to the side while turning away from him, waiting excitedly so that she can try it on now please thank you. ]

It will remain like this?

[ His clothing just disappeared after she borrowed it before, and she was displeased. ]

It will, as I made it to be solely yours.

[ wow, eager much? but he smiles faintly at her enthusiasm, undoing the clasp and hands reaching around her head to place it on her, fastening it once more at the back of her neck. the length of it is set to its longest so that the pendant can be lifted to be inspected more closely, and it will settle nicely between her breasts in the attire she's chosen for the evening.

he doesn't withdraw after fastening it, his cool touch lingering at the nape, and he leans in so that he speaks close to her ear. ]

If you are ever in need, hold the pendant with your hand and call for me. I will come to you.

[ Worry when she isn't eager.

Now she's failing a bit at keeping her tears at bay, but she's quick to dust any hint of them away after letting her hair fall back down over her shoulder.

The chill of the metal against her skin only eases her smile, and she runs her fingertips down the chain before picking up the pendant to inspect it more closely. ]

Truly? It is too much for me.

[ Her thumb brushes slowly over the design, and she shifts back toward him with a grin. ]

You would trust me not to abuse such a power?

[ he's solid against her back, one arm dropping to wrap around her waist again while his other hand continues to touch across her neck. ]

I suspect you know well the effects that such abuse can take. Besides, we are often in each other's company. You can convey any needs you have where I can hear them directly.

[ It's comforting to know that she can still reach him even if her phone is again lost. ]

Mm, yes...

[ On both counts. ]

But you must know that I am also wicked.

[ The pendant drops back down so that she can reach back while turning to brush her lips against his. ]

And selfish.

Perhaps.

[ the hand on her front presses against her belly, her fingertips teasing below the buttons of her attire, touching cooling against her skin where the fabric splits while he returns the kiss. ]

But is it selfish when I, too, enjoy your requests of me?

[ There's a tensing in her abdomen at his touch, the sort of tension that tugs further at her smile and her focus.

She's supposed to give him something in return, and it seems that he had a similar theme in mind, but that knowledge only draws her further into his touch and away from 'plans'. When he has his gift, in so many ways, it will feel as though they're never apart. ]

Then there may be no harm in us both being selfish. [ Her own fingertips tease at the shell of his ear. ] But that makes me no less wicked.

[ he hums lightly at the touch, the sound of it deep and vibrating against the shell of her ear, his lips just brushing against it as his fingers slowly inch downward. ]

This night, I confess that I do not much care if you were.

[ It isn't fair, really, how is she supposed to stand any sort of chance when he sounds like that with his hands on her? ]

Only this night?

[ She doesn't sound too concerned, but she's not giving anything else much thought at all. Only his voice and his touch, which her body also reacts to without any thought. Barely any coaxing, and her knees shift further apart while she tugs at where the silk skirt splits up along her thigh. ]

Then I should take full advantage.

Is that a request, my love?

[ said against the side of her throat, his head dipping down so that his lips brush there against her pulse point. his hand slips beneath the skirt opening, stroking against the lace undergarments between her legs. ]

[ There's the bit of a desire to protest—not because she doesn't want it, but for the spite of it. As though denying him her request would serve her any better? But still that contrary piece nearly keeps her silent.

For a few seconds, then she's huffing through her smile and tightening her grip on his knee. ]

Perhaps.

[ he hums again, kissing against her throat now, his fingers pressing against her more insistently now. ]
